Seven injured after suspected gas explosion triggers fire inside residential home in Rawalpindi
A powerful explosion ripped through a residential house in Rawalpindi’s Afandi Colony near Sadiqabad, leaving seven people injured after a suspected gas buildup ignited suddenly and set the home ablaze.
According to Rescue 1122 officials, five emergency vehicles were immediately dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of the blast. Rescue teams launched rapid firefighting operations while simultaneously evacuating injured residents from the burning structure.
Initial assessments suggest that accumulated gas inside the house may have caused the sudden explosion, which quickly escalated into a fire engulfing parts of the property. Emergency responders provided first aid on-site before transferring all seven injured individuals to Holy Family Hospital for further treatment.
Authorities confirmed that the fire has been brought under control and rescue operations have been completed. Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the incident and assess whether safety violations contributed to the blast.
