MASTUNG: A tourist family traveling from Karachi to Quetta was allegedly misdirected by Google Maps and entered a remote, high-risk area in Balochistan, where armed militants reportedly killed a husband and wife in a tragic attack.
According to local sources, the family was traveling along the highway when they followed a route suggested by Google Maps that led them to the Khand area near Dasht in Mastung district. The isolated location is considered sensitive due to security concerns.
Sources said the family was intercepted by suspected terrorists after reaching the area. The attackers allegedly opened fire, killing the husband and wife at the scene. No official statement has yet confirmed the exact circumstances surrounding the incident or the identities of the victims.
The tragic attack has raised fresh concerns over the risks of relying solely on digital navigation systems in remote regions where security conditions remain volatile. Authorities are expected to investigate both the attack and the route taken by the victims.
