In a shocking incident in Palanpur, Gujarat, India, a housemaid reportedly murdered her employer over a dispute involving gold and cash. According to local media, the maid, Rekha Rathore, had been working for Shanti Ben and her family for 15 years. Over time, Rekha developed a close relationship with Shanti.
Police reports indicate that Rekha had started her own furniture business, for which Shanti had lent her a significant amount of gold jewelry and cash about a year ago to support the venture.
However, when Shanti asked Rekha to return the borrowed money and gold, Rekha allegedly planned the murder. She lured Shanti to her furniture shop, where, along with four accomplices, she allegedly drugged and killed her.
Shanti’s family reported her missing to the police, who investigated and uncovered the crime. Authorities said that Shanti’s body had been placed in a sack and dumped in the showroom’s basement.
Police have arrested Rekha and her four accomplices, and legal proceedings are underway against them.
