Iranian leadership signals readiness for confrontation while rejecting US claims and delaying further negotiations.
ISLAMABAD: Iran’s top leadership has reiterated its commitment to national defense and sovereignty, warning adversaries of a strong response while dismissing recent remarks by US President Donald Trump as baseless.
In a statement shared on an official Telegram channel, Iran’s supreme leadership said the country’s navy is fully prepared to deliver what was described as a “new bitter defeat” to its enemies. The remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing rhetoric between Tehran and Washington.
Iranian officials also rejected statements made by Trump regarding Tehran’s nuclear program, labeling them as propaganda. They emphasized that Iran has made no commitments concerning uranium-related issues and will not compromise on its sovereign rights.
“Claims being spread about uranium are unfounded and strongly rejected,” a senior Iranian official said, reinforcing Tehran’s long-standing position on maintaining independence in its nuclear policy.
Separately, Iran’s deputy foreign minister stated that no date has been finalized for the next round of negotiations with the United States. The official criticized Trump’s communication style, saying the US president “tweets excessively and makes too many statements.”
The developments highlight continued diplomatic uncertainty between the two countries, with no immediate breakthrough in sight. Tehran reflects both internal political messaging and a signal to international stakeholders amid evolving geopolitical dynamics in the region.
