KP Health Minister Khaliqur Rehman discusses MRI services, trauma center expansion, kidney center and other healthcare projects with MTI Bannu leadership.
PESHAWAR: A delegation of the senior leadership of Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) Bannu, led by its Board of Governors Chairman Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood, met Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Khaliqur Rehman to discuss the expansion and improvement of healthcare facilities in Bannu and adjoining districts.
The meeting focused on providing better, timely and modern medical services to residents, upgrading existing hospital departments, establishing new facilities and advancing various development projects.
The delegation included MTI Bannu Hospital Director Prof. Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Khan, Medical Director Assistant Prof. Dr. Farmanullah Wazir and Board of Governors Secretary Muneeb Khan.
During the meeting, officials discussed establishing an MRI facility at MTI Bannu hospitals, expanding the trauma center at District Headquarters Hospital Bannu and setting up a kidney center. The expansion of other departments and measures to improve medical services were also reviewed.
The delegation briefed the health minister on ongoing and proposed projects, the growing healthcare needs of patients and the measures required to make medical services more effective. The discussions also covered the need to strengthen diagnostic and treatment facilities so that residents can access specialized services closer to home.
Khaliqur Rehman said providing modern diagnostic and treatment facilities to people in Bannu and adjoining districts within their own area was among the priorities of the provincial Health Department.
He said practical measures would be taken to expand medical departments and facilities in view of the increasing number of patients and the healthcare needs of the public.
The health minister assured the MTI Bannu leadership that the Health Department would extend all possible cooperation for improving hospital facilities, advancing necessary development projects and ensuring the provision of quality healthcare.
He also directed the relevant authorities to maintain effective coordination and ensure progress on the matters discussed during the meeting.
The meeting reaffirmed the objective of expanding healthcare facilities and establishing modern departments at MTI Bannu to provide timely, quality and advanced medical services to people in Bannu and neighboring districts. The planned improvements are also aimed at reducing the need for patients to travel to distant areas for diagnosis and treatment.
