LPG Prices Surge in Sargodha as Crisis Deepens for Residents

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Sharp rise in LPG prices linked to supply shortages and growing demand, leaving households and businesses under pressure

SARGODHA: A worsening liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) crisis in Sargodha is driving prices to unprecedented levels, placing severe financial strain on households and businesses alike.

Over the past few weeks, LPG rates in the city and its surrounding areas have more than doubled, with prices now exceeding Rs450 per kilogram. The surge has forced domestic consumers, small businesses, and factory owners to purchase gas at significantly higher costs, compounding the burden of inflation.

Local LPG dealers attribute the price hike to reduced supply and a sharp increase in demand. “The imbalance in supply and demand has pushed prices upward,” several dealers said, adding that the situation may persist if supply chains are not stabilized.

The crisis has particularly affected middle- and low-income families, many of whom rely on LPG for daily cooking and heating needs. Residents say the steep increase has made it difficult to manage household budgets already strained by rising living costs.

Citizens and gas dealers are now looking toward the government for intervention. Many are calling for official price regulation and strict action against hoarding to prevent further exploitation in the market.

As the crisis deepens, pressure is mounting on authorities to take swift measures to stabilize prices and ensure consistent supply across the region.
