Digital forensic examination of electronic devices continues as investigators submit key updates to the Lahore sessions court in the cyber harassment case involving actor Momina Iqbal and PML-N lawmaker Saqib Chadhar.
A significant development has emerged in the cyber harassment case involving Pakistani actor Momina Iqbal and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Saqib Chadhar, as investigators continue examining digital evidence central to the allegations.
According to proceedings before the Lahore sessions court, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) informed the court that its investigation concerning Saqib Chadhar has been completed. Authorities also confirmed that Samira Chadhar, the lawmaker’s wife, submitted her mobile phone for forensic examination, with experts currently analyzing the device as part of the ongoing investigation.
Momina Iqbal shared an update on social media, describing the latest forensic progress as another step toward justice. However, her remarks reflect her personal position and should not be interpreted as a judicial finding. The court has not issued any verdict regarding the allegations.
During the hearing, Momina’s counsel, Adnan Ahsan, urged the court to revoke the interim pre-arrest bail granted to the accused, arguing that their continued release could present security concerns for the actor.
The case centers on allegations of cyber harassment, intimidation, stalking, threats and blackmail. Momina initially approached the NCCIA, accusing Saqib Chadhar and Samira Chadhar of engaging in unlawful online conduct. Both accused have denied all allegations and continue to contest the claims while remaining on interim pre-arrest bail.
Investigators have placed considerable emphasis on digital forensic evidence, including mobile phones and electronic records, to establish the facts surrounding the case. The forensic analysis is expected to play a key role as the investigation moves toward its next phase.
