North Waziristan Tehsildar Alleges Corruption in Razmak Subdivision, Announces Resignation From Charge

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Tehsildar Malik Abidullah Wazir says he has sent a confidential report to senior officials detailing alleged irregularities in the administration of Razmak subdivision.

A tehsildar in North Waziristan has announced his decision to relinquish his current charge after 25 days, alleging widespread corruption and administrative irregularities in Razmak subdivision and claiming that he cannot be part of a system that conflicts with his conscience and official oath.

Malik Abidullah Wazir, Tehsildar of Gariyum, said corruption was allegedly taking place across different levels of the administrative structure. He also claimed that seized goods were being distributed on a percentage basis, raising questions about the handling of government property and administrative accountability.

According to Wazir, he has sent a confidential report to the deputy commissioner of North Waziristan and the Bannu commissioner. The report reportedly outlines alleged irregularities and corruption in administrative affairs.

Report details alleged irregularities

The report, as described in the supplied information, refers to the distribution of stamp pads, confiscated vehicles, medicines and clothing. Wazir also alleged that individuals from outside the area were involved in the purported corruption network.

The allegations have not been independently verified, and no response from the officials accused of administrative wrongdoing was included in the available information. The claims therefore require examination through an impartial investigation before any conclusions can be drawn.

Wazir said his conscience and the oath he took as a government official would not allow him to become part of such a system. He consequently decided to relinquish his current charge after completing 25 days in the role.

He also said he was prepared to present evidence if requested by the relevant authorities. Wazir further asked to be transferred to a station where he could perform his official responsibilities with integrity.

Questions over accountability and transparency

The allegations have raised questions about administrative oversight, the handling of confiscated property and the mechanisms available to government employees who report suspected wrongdoing.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has repeatedly emphasized transparency, merit and the elimination of corruption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The allegations made by a serving government official, if substantiated, could prompt scrutiny of administrative practices and the effectiveness of existing accountability mechanisms.

However, the claims against the Razmak subdivision administration should not be treated as established facts without independent verification. A transparent inquiry could help determine whether the alleged irregularities occurred, identify any individuals responsible and establish whether government property was handled in accordance with applicable rules.

Public resources and confiscated goods are matters of public accountability. Any substantiated misuse could affect public trust and raise concerns about the protection of citizens’ rights.
