Pakistan Launches New “Phish-Radar” Platform to Fight Online Fraud and Fake Websites

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

PKCERT has introduced the national Phish-Radar platform to help Pakistanis detect suspicious websites, report phishing attempts, and strengthen cybersecurity awareness amid rising online fraud.

Pakistan has taken a significant step to combat the growing wave of online fraud by launching Phish-Radar, a national platform designed to help citizens identify phishing websites and report suspicious online activity.

The initiative was introduced by PKCERT (Pakistan National Computer Emergency Response Team) in response to the increasing number of fake websites, fraudulent links, and phishing attacks targeting internet users across the country. The platform enables users to instantly verify suspicious web links, report potentially malicious websites, and access cybersecurity guidance to stay protected online.

According to PKCERT, cybercriminals frequently use fake websites, SMS messages, emails, and social media posts to deceive users into revealing sensitive information such as banking credentials, passwords, and personal data. These phishing attacks can result in financial losses, identity theft, and serious privacy risks.

PKCERT stated that Phish-Radar is the outcome of a successful public-private partnership. The organization conceptualized the national initiative, while LogIQ Curve, a partner in PKCERT’s Cyber Innovation Ecosystem, developed and maintains the platform. Advanced threat intelligence is provided by PhishReaper, enabling faster detection and analysis of suspicious websites.
