Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards conduct an intelligence-based joint operation in Pashikan, Balochistan, seizing alcohol and illegal drugs.
RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards have foiled what the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) described as a major smuggling attempt in Pashikan, Balochistan, during a joint intelligence-based operation.
The operation was conducted with the support of the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Center (JMICC), according to the ISPR.
Acting on intelligence information, the participating forces carried out a joint operation in the Pashikan area of Balochistan and seized a significant quantity of prohibited items.
The recovered material included a considerable quantity of alcohol and illegal medicines, the ISPR said.
The seized prohibited goods have been handed over to the Pakistan Coast Guards for further legal proceedings.
The ISPR said the successful operation demonstrated effective coordination and cooperation among the relevant institutions in countering smuggling activities.
According to the military’s media wing, the operation also reflected the authorities’ resolve to prevent Pakistan’s maritime and territorial areas from being used for illegal activities.
The operation was carried out as part of intelligence-based efforts to curb smuggling in the area, with the recovered goods now subject to further legal action by the Pakistan Coast Guards.
