Petrol Price Rises by Rs2.02, Diesel Gets Rs3.59 Reduction Until September 28

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

The federal government has revised petroleum prices for the next three days, increasing petrol while reducing the price of high-speed diesel.

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has revised petroleum product prices for the next three days, increasing the price of petrol by Rs2.02 per litre while reducing high-speed diesel by Rs3.59 per litre.

According to a Petroleum Division notification, the revised prices will remain effective until September 28.

Following the latest adjustment, the price of petrol has increased to Rs391.30 per litre from the previous rate. Motorists will now pay Rs2.02 more for every litre of petrol.

In contrast, the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs3.59 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs408.53 per litre.

The latest revision has resulted in different price movements for the two major petroleum products, with petrol consumers facing higher costs while diesel users receive some relief.

Petroleum prices are closely monitored by consumers, businesses and transport operators because changes in fuel rates can affect transportation expenses and, in turn, the cost of goods and services.

Diesel prices are particularly significant for the transport and commercial sectors because high-speed diesel is widely used in public and private transport, commercial vehicles, agricultural machinery and various industrial activities.

Under the latest notification, consumers purchasing larger quantities of petrol will face a proportionately higher fuel expense because of the Rs2.02-per-litre increase. Meanwhile, the reduction in diesel prices will lower fuel costs for consumers and businesses using diesel-powered vehicles and machinery.

The government periodically reviews petroleum prices based on relevant factors, including changes in international oil prices and exchange rates, before issuing revised rates through the concerned authorities.

The latest adjustment is a short-term revision, with the new rates remaining in force through September 28. Any subsequent changes will depend on the next official review and notification.

The revised prices mean petrol will now be available at Rs391.30 per litre, while high-speed diesel will be sold at Rs408.53 per litre.
