Eight security personnel were martyred and one was injured after militants ambushed an FC party and the Assistant Commissioner Harnai’s squad in Kach Mor, Pishin.
PISHIN: Eight security personnel were martyred and another was injured after militants of Fitna al-Khawarij ambushed a Frontier Corps (FC) party and the Assistant Commissioner Harnai’s squad in the Kach Mor area of Pishin, according to initial information.
The attack took place on Sept. 3 at around 12:10 p.m., when a party of 134 Wing, led by Major Salahuddin, left the FC headquarters for Kach Mor to establish a new post.
According to preliminary reports, the FC party came under attack after reaching Kach Mor, about 3 to 4 kilometers beyond Ziarat Cross in Pishin. The militants had reportedly established a roadblock and launched an ambush targeting the FC party as well as the squad accompanying the Assistant Commissioner of Harnai.
Security forces immediately launched a retaliatory operation following the attack. An exchange of fire continued between the security personnel and the militants.
Initial reports said eight security personnel were martyred and one was injured in the attack. In the retaliatory action, 11 militants were reportedly killed.
The exchange of fire was still continuing in the area, while a helicopter also reached the site to provide support, according to the preliminary information.
