PM Shehbaz Sharif says Pakistan’s future depends on national unity, social harmony, economic stability and commitment to Quaid-e-Azam’s principles.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on his 78th death anniversary, saying Pakistan’s progress and prosperity require collective national efforts and a renewed commitment to the founder’s guiding principles.
In a message issued on Sept. 11, the prime minister said the nation was paying heartfelt tribute to Quaid-e-Azam for his visionary leadership, political wisdom and selfless guidance.
Shehbaz said Quaid-e-Azam was among the world’s prominent leaders who changed the course of history by paving the way for an independent state for the Muslims of the subcontinent despite extremely difficult circumstances.
He said Jinnah united Muslims of the subcontinent and gave them the determination and courage to struggle for the protection of their religious, cultural and ideological identity.
According to the prime minister, Quaid-e-Azam’s political insight, foresight and leadership helped advance the freedom movement and ultimately turned the dream of an independent homeland into Pakistan.
Shehbaz said the new state faced serious administrative and financial challenges, along with the mass migration of millions of people and the task of establishing a functioning system of government. He said Quaid-e-Azam dealt with these challenges with wisdom and confidence.
The prime minister said Quaid-e-Azam had made clear that the foundations of Pakistan were rooted in Islamic principles, including freedom for citizens regardless of race and religion and equal fundamental rights and responsibilities.
He described the creation of a developed and welfare-oriented Pakistan as a central objective of Quaid-e-Azam’s political legacy.
Shehbaz said Pakistan’s development, prosperity and welfare could only be achieved through the collective efforts of the entire nation.
“Today calls for a renewed pledge, as a nation, to remain committed to the guiding principles of Quaid-e-Azam,” the prime minister said in his message.
He emphasized that unwavering commitment to the principles of “faith, unity and discipline” should guide the education and upbringing of future generations and serve as a beacon for Pakistan’s national future.
Shehbaz said the best way to pay tribute to Quaid-e-Azam’s legacy was to work collectively to promote national unity, social harmony and economic stability.
He expressed the resolve that future generations should inherit a country that truly reflects the thoughts and ideals of the founder of Pakistan.
The prime minister also prayed for the elevation of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s rank in the hereafter and asked Allah Almighty to grant him a high place in His mercy.
