Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will attend the SCO summit, address regional and global issues and hold bilateral meetings with participating leaders.
BISHKEK: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Kyrgyzstan’s capital Bishkek on Monday for a three-day visit to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit and engage with leaders from participating countries.
Upon his arrival, Kyrgyzstan’s Chairman of the Cabinet Adylbek Kasymaliev received the prime minister.
During the visit, Shehbaz Sharif will address the SCO summit and present Pakistan’s position on key regional and global issues. He will also participate in the SCO Plus summit.
The prime minister is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games as a special guest.
On the sidelines of the SCO meetings, Shehbaz Sharif will hold bilateral meetings with leaders of various participating countries. The discussions will cover bilateral relations, trade and investment, regional cooperation and other matters of mutual interest.
The prime minister is also scheduled to meet Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov. The meeting will provide an opportunity to review all aspects of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, discussions during the visit will focus on expanding trade and investment ties, energy cooperation, regional connectivity, education, tourism and people-to-people contacts.
The Pakistani delegation accompanying the prime minister includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Jam Kamal Khan, Aleem Khan and Attaullah Tarar.
