Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to visit Gilgit-Baltistan for a one-day tour alongside key federal ministers, where he will hold important meetings with the region’s top leadership.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will undertake a one-day official visit to Gilgit-Baltistan today, in a move that has drawn significant political and administrative attention across the country.
During the visit, the prime minister is scheduled to meet Syed Mehdi Shah and Justice (R) Yar Muhammad to discuss matters related to regional development, governance, and ongoing federal initiatives in the mountainous territory.
A high-level federal delegation will accompany the prime minister during the tour. The delegation includes Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Attaullah Tarar, Engineer Amir Muqam, Abdul Aleem Khan, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, along with Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah.
Political observers believe the visit reflects the federal government’s continued focus on strategic connectivity, infrastructure development, and administrative coordination in Gilgit-Baltistan, a region considered vital due to its geographic and economic importance.
The prime minister’s engagements are also expected to include discussions on public welfare projects, regional stability, and future development plans aimed at improving facilities and opportunities for the people of the area.
