A series of robbery and snatching incidents reported from multiple police jurisdictions in Islamabad has raised serious concerns over public safety in the federal capital.
Federal capital Islamabad witnessed a disturbing rise in street crime over the past 24 hours as armed robbers and snatchers targeted citizens in multiple areas, creating fear and uncertainty among residents.
According to police sources, several incidents of robbery, snatching, and motorcycle theft were reported from different police station jurisdictions across the city. Citizens complained of increasing insecurity as criminals continued to operate openly in various sectors of the capital.
In the jurisdiction of Aabpara police station, a citizen was deprived of a mobile phone during a snatching incident. Meanwhile, armed robbers in the area of Humak police station allegedly looted cash and a mobile phone from another citizen at gunpoint.
Another major incident took place in the limits of Noon police station, where armed suspects reportedly snatched a motorcycle from a resident before fleeing the scene.
Similarly, within the jurisdiction of Nilore police station, robbers allegedly intercepted a citizen and escaped after taking Rs10,000 in cash.
The increasing number of criminal incidents in a short span has intensified concerns among Islamabad residents, many of whom are demanding stronger patrolling and stricter law enforcement measures to curb street crime.
Islamabad Police stated that legal proceedings have been initiated in all reported cases and efforts are underway to trace and arrest the suspects involved in the incidents.
