ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to Pakistan’s police martyrs on Police Martyrs’ Day, praising their courage, dedication and sacrifices in protecting the nation against terrorism and organized crime.
In a message marking the occasion, the president described the fallen officers as national heroes whose unwavering commitment has played a critical role in preserving peace, public safety and the rule of law. He said their sacrifices remain a source of pride for the entire nation and will never be forgotten.
President Zardari said countless police personnel have laid down their lives while defending citizens and confronting terrorists and their foreign-backed supporters. He emphasized that their bravery continues to inspire confidence in Pakistan’s security institutions.
Highlighting the achievements of law enforcement agencies, the president said police forces across the country have successfully foiled terrorist plots and dismantled criminal networks through intelligence-based operations, professionalism and unwavering dedication. He noted that these efforts have significantly contributed to national security and public confidence.
The president paid special tribute to the police forces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, acknowledging their exceptional resilience in combating terrorism under extremely challenging conditions.
