Lahore: The Punjab government has taken notice of a video recording incident at Lady Willingdon Hospital and initiated strict administrative action against the concerned officials and doctors.
According to a notification issued by the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department, Medical Superintendent Dr. Farah Inam and Head of the Gynecology Department, Professor Dr. Uzma Hussain, have been asked to submit their explanations within three days.
In the same case, the postgraduate training of four doctors—Dr. Tayyaba Fatima Toor, Dr. Maham Amin, Dr. Zainab Tahir, and Ayesha Afzal—has been suspended immediately. The concerned residents have been directed to report to the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department.
Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique stated that such actions are against medical ethics, violate patient dignity, and breach professional standards. He emphasized that such practices are strictly prohibited under government rules and hospital SOPs.
An official statement described the incident as a serious example of negligence in performing official duties, reflecting administrative shortcomings and mismanagement.
Punjab Health Secretary Azmat Mahmood warned that if satisfactory responses are not submitted within the given time, formal disciplinary action will be taken against those involved.
