Suspect in 12-Year-Old Girl’s Rape and Murder Killed in CCD Encounter in Rawalpindi

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

A suspect wanted in the rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl, identified as Mahmoona, was killed in an exchange of fire with the Crime Control Department (CCD) in Rawalpindi, police said.

The suspect, identified as Mumraiz Abbasi, was among three men who allegedly opened fire on a CCD team near Alam Abad Children’s Park in the limits of the Ratta Amral police station. He was killed during the exchange of fire, according to the information provided by police.

Abbasi was a resident of Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and had allegedly been on the run since the incident. Police said a .30-bore pistol was recovered from his possession after the encounter.

Suspect was wanted in girl’s murder case

According to police, Abbasi was wanted in a case involving the abduction, rape and murder of the 12-year-old girl. The suspect was reportedly the victim’s maternal uncle.

The girl’s body was found at the suspect’s house on Oct. 8, according to the information provided. Police said the child had been raped and murdered while on her way to a madrassa a few days earlier.

The case prompted a search for the suspect, who allegedly fled after the incident. Police also said CCTV footage showing Abbasi with the victim had emerged in connection with the investigation.

Body shifted for postmortem

Following the encounter, Abbasi’s body was shifted to a hospital for a postmortem examination. The examination is expected to form part of the official investigation into the circumstances of his death.

The police account states that three suspects opened fire on the CCD team near the children’s park. The available information does not specify whether the other two suspects were arrested or escaped.

The incident marks a development in the investigation into the child’s death. However, the circumstances of the encounter and the sequence of events leading to the suspect’s death should be established through the official investigation.

The CCD Rawalpindi team has received public appreciation for its reported action in the case and efforts to bring the suspect to justice.
