Shah Rukh Khan Joins AR Rahman’s Emotional Tribute to Late Singer Asha Bhosle

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Shah Rukh Khan will feature in AR Rahman’s upcoming tribute music video honoring legendary singer Asha Bhosle and her lasting contribution to Indian music.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is set to join composer A.R. Rahman in a special music video honoring the late legendary singer Asha Bhosle, adding another major name to a project created to celebrate her extraordinary musical legacy.

Rahman confirmed Khan’s participation on social media, thanking the actor for agreeing to become part of the tribute. The composer described the project as a heartfelt offering dedicated to Bhosle and her decades-long contribution to Indian music.

The tribute has an especially emotional significance because it was conceived while Bhosle was still alive. Rahman previously revealed that the team had hoped she would eventually see the finished project and witness the appreciation behind it. He introduced the first teaser on World Music Day in June, presenting the initiative as a celebration of a voice that crossed generations, languages and borders.

Bhosle died on April 12, 2026, at the age of 92 following multiple organ failure. Her death brought an outpouring of tributes from across the Indian film and music industries, including messages from Khan and Rahman. Khan described her voice as one of the pillars of Indian cinema, while Rahman wrote that she would live forever through her voice and aura.

Bhosle’s career spanned several decades and included thousands of recordings across Indian languages and musical styles. Her versatility allowed her to move between romantic songs, classical compositions, ghazals, cabaret numbers and experimental music, helping establish her as one of the most distinctive playback singers in Indian cinema.

Her association with Rahman also produced memorable collaborations, including songs from films such as Rangeela, Thakshak and Lagaan. Their musical partnership remains part of her enduring legacy.

Khan’s involvement gives the upcoming tribute another strong connection to Bollywood. His own career has been closely linked with Bhosle’s music, including her celebrated work featured in films associated with the actor.
