SNGPL will suspend gas supply from 9 p.m. on October 20 to 5 a.m. on October 21 for maintenance and relocation of a main pipeline near Zakori Flyover on GT Road.
Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has announced an eight-hour suspension of gas supply in several areas of Peshawar on October 20-21 to carry out maintenance work related to the relocation of a main gas pipeline near Zakori Flyover on GT Road.
According to the company’s announcement issued Sunday, Oct. 18, the interruption will begin at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, and continue until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21.
The scheduled shutdown will affect Peshawar Cantonment, Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), Nothia, Gulberg, Charsadda Road, Pajagi Road and surrounding localities.
SNGPL said the temporary suspension is necessary to relocate the main gas pipeline in the area. Gas supply to the listed neighbourhoods will remain disrupted while the maintenance work is underway.
Residents, businesses and other consumers in the affected areas have been advised to make alternative arrangements in advance to minimise inconvenience during the eight-hour outage. Households that rely on natural gas for cooking and other daily activities should plan accordingly.
The company has also urged consumers to keep their gas appliances switched off throughout the suspension period. The precaution is intended to reduce the risk of accidents when gas supply is restored.
Consumers should ensure that gas appliances remain off during the shutdown and exercise caution when services resume. Following the company’s safety advice is particularly important for households that may not be present when the supply is restored.
The pipeline relocation work is expected to affect gas availability overnight, with the announced restoration time set for 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21.
SNGPL did not specify any additional affected localities or announce changes to the scheduled maintenance period in the information provided. Consumers should follow any further updates issued by the company regarding the work and the restoration of gas services.
Residents in Peshawar Cantonment, Nothia, Gulberg, areas along Charsadda Road and Pajagi Road, and other listed localities are advised to take note of the announced timings and prepare for the temporary disruption.
