US President Donald Trump has announced that Lebanon and Israel have agreed to a 10-day ceasefire.
Taking to his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump shared that the temporary ceasefire deal had been reached between the two countries following high-level discussions.
In his statement, Trump said he held “very productive” conversations with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
He added that both leaders have agreed to formally begin a 10-day ceasefire in an effort to move toward peace between their nations.
According to Trump, the ceasefire will come into effect at 5:00 PM US time, which corresponds to 2:00 AM in Pakistan.
The development is being seen as a significant step toward reducing tensions in the region, with hopes that it could pave the way for more lasting peace efforts.
