US President Donald Trump has praised Pakistan’s leadership for facilitating ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran in Islamabad. He credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their effective leadership in making the talks possible.
Trump described the Pakistani leadership as “exceptional” and acknowledged their efforts in promoting regional stability, including helping prevent a potential large-scale conflict with India.
According to Trump, the negotiations lasted nearly 20 hours and made progress on several issues. However, he emphasized that no final agreement was reached on the most critical issue Iran’s nuclear program.
He stated that Iran remains unwilling to abandon its nuclear ambitions, calling it the primary obstacle to reaching a deal.
