ISLAMABAD – Pakistan is intensifying diplomatic engagement with Türkiye and Egypt, focusing on expanding cooperation in trade, security, defense, and humanitarian efforts. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar met with Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty during a two-day quadrilateral summit with Saudi Arabia, aimed at promoting de-escalation in the Middle East amid US-Iran tensions.
Dar highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding relationship with Türkiye, emphasizing shared history, culture, and strategic collaboration. Discussions covered trade, defense, security, and regional developments, reaffirming close coordination on global and Middle East issues.
Talks with Egypt focused on defense cooperation, trade mechanisms, health sector support, and humanitarian aid for Gaza. Both countries committed to ongoing coordination at international forums like the UN and OIC.
The quadrilateral summit, chaired by Dar in Islamabad, brings together foreign ministers from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt. It aims to foster dialogue, reduce regional tensions, and support peace initiatives following recent US and Israeli actions in the region. Pakistan continues proactive diplomacy, engaging Washington, Gulf nations, and other stakeholders to facilitate potential ceasefire talks.
