Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a significant increase in the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), adding further pressure on consumers already struggling with rising inflation. According to an official notification issued by OGRA, the price of LPG has been increased by Rs78.28 per kilogram.
Following this hike, the new price of LPG has been fixed at Rs304.12 per kg. The revised rates will come into effect from April 1, impacting households and businesses that rely heavily on LPG for cooking and heating purposes.
The increase is expected to raise the cost of domestic cylinders, making it more difficult for low- and middle income families to manage their daily expenses. LPG is widely used in areas where natural gas supply is limited or unavailable, making such price hikes particularly burdensome for rural populations.
Energy experts believe that fluctuations in international fuel prices and exchange rates may have contributed to the increase. However consumers are urging the government to provide relief measures to offset the growing financial strain.
This latest price adjustment reflects ongoing economic challenges and is likely to contribute to further inflationary pressure in the coming months.
