ISLAMABAD: Authorities have implemented a strict media coverage policy for the ongoing Islamabad Talks, restricting both international and local journalists to a designated Media Facility Center, according to official briefing details released on Saturday.
Under the new guidelines, direct access to the negotiation venue has been completely prohibited. Media representatives will not be allowed to observe or broadcast the proceedings in real time. Instead, they will rely on curated footage and limited press briefings provided by Pakistani officials.
Officials confirmed that all initial information regarding the talks will be released exclusively through government channels to ensure consistency and control over sensitive diplomatic communication. The policy also includes restricted general briefings, with no unsupervised interaction between journalists and negotiating delegations.
According to diplomatic protocol outlined for the talks, any major progress or breakthrough will be formally announced by the participating parties themselves, rather than through media intermediaries. Authorities said the approach is intended to maintain confidentiality during high-level discussions and prevent speculation.
The controlled information-sharing framework reflects a broader effort to manage sensitive diplomatic engagement while maintaining transparency through official communication channels. Media access will remain limited throughout the duration of the negotiations.
