Saudi Finance Minister Meets PM Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad to Strengthen Economic Ties

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Finance H.E. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on an official visit, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral economic and strategic relations.

The high-level meeting was attended by senior Pakistani leadership, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir (Chief of Defence Forces), Lt Gen Muhammad Asim Malik (DG ISI), and National Security Adviser. Senior government officials also participated in the discussions.

Welcoming the Saudi minister, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his respect for Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He also recalled his recent warm telephone conversation with the Crown Prince, describing it as cordial and constructive.

The prime minister appreciated Saudi Arabia’s longstanding economic and financial support to Pakistan, noting its significant contribution to the country’s macroeconomic stability. He emphasized that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share a deep and enduring brotherly relationship rooted in mutual trust and cooperation.

Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s strong commitment to expanding cooperation with Saudi Arabia in key sectors including trade, investment, and economic development. He stressed that both countries should further enhance collaboration under the leadership and vision of the Saudi Crown Prince.

The Saudi finance minister thanked the prime minister for the warm reception and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening its historic ties with Pakistan, in line with the vision of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Officials said the meeting reflects continued engagement between the two countries aimed at deepening economic cooperation and expanding investment opportunities.
