Islamabad Tightens Security as Second Round of Iran-US Talks Nears

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Authorities enforce strict protocols, restrict police communication, and deploy thousands of personnel in Islamabad to ensure security during high-stakes diplomatic talks

ISLAMABAD: Extensive security arrangements have been finalized in Islamabad as preparations intensify for the anticipated second round of negotiations between Iran and the United States, according to official sources.

Foreign delegations participating in the talks will be accommodated within the federal capital under strict security protocols. Authorities have implemented comprehensive measures aimed at ensuring the safety of both visiting officials and local residents during the high-level diplomatic engagement.

Sources confirmed that police officers assigned to duty will not be allowed to use mobile phones during their shifts, a step intended to maintain operational discipline and minimize security risks. Additionally, all deployed personnel have been directed to mandatorily utilize anti-riot kits throughout their assignments.

A total of 18,000 security personnel have been deployed across Islamabad to manage the situation. Reinforcements include 7,000 personnel from Punjab, who have already arrived in the capital to assist local law enforcement agencies.

Security duties are being carried out jointly by Islamabad Police, Pakistan Rangers, and Frontier Corps (FC), while Pakistan Army units have established coordinated checkpoints alongside police forces at key locations across the city.

Authorities have also ensured that all routes designated for the movement of foreign delegations remain clear. Green belts and service roads along these routes have been cleared to prevent any obstructions or security concerns.

To enhance coordination, Islamabad Police has provided wireless communication sets to Punjab Police personnel. Strict entry protocols have also been enforced, with instructions that no police officer or official will be permitted access to secured routes without displaying their official service card.

In addition to security measures, traffic police have been deployed at multiple points across the city to facilitate citizens and minimize disruptions. Officials stated that road repair work, particularly in sensitive and route areas, has been completed to ensure smooth movement during the negotiations period.

The heightened security underscores the significance of the upcoming talks, as Islamabad prepares to host a critical phase of diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
