Shockwaves in Bannu: CM Sohail Afridi’s Fiery Visit After Deadly Police Attack

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Bannu was gripped by grief and heightened security tensions as a high-level visit by Muhammad Sohail Afridi brought renewed focus to the recent terrorist attack on Fateh Khel Police Station, where police personnel were martyred and others injured. The visit turned into a powerful moment of mourning, accountability, and political messaging amid rising concerns over security in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During his trip to the district, the chief minister met the families of the fallen officers, offering condolences and praying for the elevation of their ranks in the afterlife. He also paid a visit to injured personnel in the hospital, directing authorities to ensure the best possible medical treatment without delay or compromise.

Officials present during the visit said the atmosphere was deeply emotional, with scenes of grief reflecting the human cost of ongoing militancy in the region. The CM reiterated that the sacrifices of police officers will not go in vain and pledged continued support for their families.

Speaking on the security situation, Sohail Afridi praised the courage of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, calling their response to terrorism “exceptionally brave and resilient.” He stressed that the force remains the frontline shield against extremism and deserves full institutional backing.

However, his remarks also carried a sharp political tone. He warned that repeated warnings about the resurgence of militant threats had been ignored for years, adding that decisions made “behind closed doors for 78 years” had repeatedly been imposed on the province.

He argued that such policies had contributed to instability and insecurity, pushing the region into prolonged turbulence. The chief minister insisted that continued unrest would not be tolerated and that provincial authorities must take a firm stand against terrorism.

Reaffirming his stance, he said that both the provincial government and police would jointly confront terrorism without hesitation. He also declared opposition to any policy decisions that undermine the province’s peace or public interest.

The visit concluded with a strong commitment to restoring stability, with the chief minister stating that establishing lasting peace remains the top priority of the government. He vowed that the sacrifices of martyrs will remain a guiding force in the fight against militancy.
