Nine Militants Killed But Quetta Operation Takes Tragic Turn as Four CTD Heroes Embrace Martyrdom

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

QUETTA: A major counterterrorism operation on the outskirts of Quetta turned deadly on Saturday after four Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) officials were martyred during an intense exchange of fire with suspected militants, officials said.

The intelligence-based operation was jointly conducted by the CTD and other security forces in the suburban areas of Kuchlak and Nohsar after authorities received reports regarding the presence of armed militants in the region.

According to officials, security personnel launched the raid to target suspected terrorist hideouts when militants opened heavy fire, triggering a fierce gun battle that continued for a significant period. As a result of the operation, nine suspected terrorists were killed.

However, the clash also claimed the lives of four CTD officials who embraced martyrdom while performing their duties. Several other personnel sustained injuries during the operation and were immediately shifted to nearby medical facilities for treatment.

Officials said the injured officers are receiving specialised medical care, while the provincial administration has directed health authorities to ensure all possible treatment facilities are provided to the wounded personnel.

Reacting to the development, Balochistan government spokesperson and Chief Minister’s Assistant for Political and Media Affairs Shahid Rind praised the operation and described it as evidence of the professionalism and readiness of the province’s law enforcement agencies.

He paid tribute to the martyred officials, saying their sacrifices would not be forgotten and that they laid down their lives to protect public peace and national security.

Rind also commended security forces for their continued efforts against militancy, adding that the nation remains indebted to the brave personnel fighting terrorism across the country.

The latest operation comes amid continued security challenges in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan, where security forces have intensified intelligence-based operations targeting militant networks.
