Nowshera’s Famous Cloth Market Reduced to Ashes Overnight After Massive Fire

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

A devastating fire swept through Nowshera Cantonment’s Main Bazaar, destroying a major cloth market and causing heavy losses despite continuous firefighting efforts.

A massive fire broke out in Nowshera Cantonment’s Main Bazaar late at night, reducing one of Pakistan’s well-known cloth markets to ashes and leaving traders facing enormous financial losses.

The market, long recognized across Pakistan for its textile and clothing businesses, was engulfed by flames that spread rapidly through multiple shops. Witnesses reported scenes of panic as thick smoke and intense fire consumed large sections of the commercial area within hours.

Firefighters launched an extensive operation to control the blaze, but the intensity of the fire made containment difficult. Despite sustained efforts, a significant portion of the market was destroyed before the flames could be brought under control.

District Police Officer Ahmed Shah personally supervised the emergency response. Heavy police deployment remained on-site to assist rescue teams, manage crowds, and support firefighting operations.

Authorities appealed to the public to keep roads clear for fire brigade vehicles and avoid gathering near the affected area. Citizens were urged to cooperate fully with firefighters and law enforcement personnel to ensure uninterrupted emergency operations.

The full extent of the losses is still being assessed, while authorities continue investigating the cause of the fire. The incident has raised concerns among local traders and residents, many of whom described the destruction as one of the most severe commercial fires witnessed in the area in recent years.
