Sohail Afridi reviews development fund utilization, prioritizes health, education, and completion of high-impact projects across the province.
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi chaired a high-level meeting to review the utilization of development funds under the provincial Annual Development Program (ADP), Merged Districts ADP, Accelerated Implementation Program (AIP), and foreign-funded development portfolio.
Officials briefed the chief minister on progress and spending across various development sectors. According to the briefing, the AIP recorded 92% fund utilization, while the Merged Districts ADP achieved 94% utilization. The provincial ADP reported an 88% utilization rate, reflecting strong implementation of development initiatives.
The meeting was informed that progress on development projects across multiple sectors remains satisfactory and that the target of fully utilizing released funds is expected to be achieved soon.
Afridi expressed satisfaction over the effective use of development resources and the pace of project execution. He emphasized that health and education remain among the provincial government’s top priorities and said the upcoming annual development program will allocate special attention to social sectors.
The chief minister noted that increasing pressure on Peshawar’s hospitals requires extraordinary focus and additional measures to ensure quality and timely healthcare services for citizens.
