Punjab Police says more than 35,700 Afghan nationals and other foreign residents have been deported as authorities continue enforcing the government’s repatriation policy under applicable laws.
Punjab authorities have continued their campaign to repatriate foreign nationals residing illegally in the province, with officials confirming that 35,719 Afghan nationals and other foreign residents have been deported so far.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, 72 individuals are currently being held at designated holding points across the province while legal procedures for their return are being completed.
Official figures show that those deported include more than 14,000 men, 7,138 women, and 14,529 children. Authorities said 11,047 foreign nationals possessed proof of residence, while 11,135 Afghan Citizen Card holders and 13,537 undocumented foreign residents were also repatriated under the ongoing operation.
Inspector General of Punjab Police Abdul Karim directed law enforcement agencies to maintain high security alert across the province and ensure the continued implementation of the government’s policy regarding the return of foreign nationals residing without legal authorization.
