Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the government’s commitment to overseas Pakistanis, directing the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation to accelerate welfare initiatives and improve services for millions of expatriates.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) Board of Governors Chairman Syed Qamar Raza and Managing Director Afzal Bhatti in Islamabad to review measures aimed at improving the welfare of Pakistanis living abroad.
During the meeting, the prime minister described overseas Pakistanis as one of the country’s most valuable assets, acknowledging their significant contribution to Pakistan’s economy through remittances and foreign exchange earnings. He emphasized that the government remains committed to addressing their concerns and expanding the facilities available to them.
Shehbaz Sharif directed the OPF to accelerate ongoing welfare projects and ensure faster implementation of initiatives designed to provide better services for expatriate Pakistanis. Officials also briefed the prime minister on the foundation’s future strategy for enhancing support and improving service delivery for overseas communities.
