Authorities have ordered a citywide survey of unregistered tuition academies, with enforcement measures including sealing illegal centers and imposing penalties for building code violations.
Lahore authorities have launched a citywide crackdown on unregistered tuition academies following the tragic roof collapse at a tuition center in Kahna that raised serious concerns over student safety and regulatory compliance.
The District Education Authority (DEA) has directed all education officers to identify unauthorized and unregistered tuition centers operating within their respective jurisdictions. Officials have been instructed to submit complete records within three days as part of an emergency enforcement drive.
According to officials, the collected information will be used to establish a comprehensive database of illegal tuition academies across Lahore. The database will help authorities take legal action against institutions operating without registration or violating prescribed regulations.
Sources said strict measures will be taken against tuition centers functioning illegally, including those operating from residential buildings without the required approvals for commercial use. Property owners found violating zoning and building regulations may also face financial penalties.
