Supreme Court Takes Up Plea Against Islamabad High Court Delay in Iman Mazari Case

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Pakistan’s Supreme Court is set to hear petitions challenging the Islamabad High Court’s delay in deciding sentence suspension applications in the controversial social media posts case involving Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha.

A significant legal development is expected today as Pakistan’s Supreme Court is scheduled to hear petitions challenging the Islamabad High Court’s failure to decide sentence suspension applications filed by Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha in the controversial social media posts case.

A reconstituted Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar will take up the matter shortly.

The petitions argue that despite clear directions from the Supreme Court, the Islamabad High Court has yet to issue a ruling on the sentence suspension requests. On May 12, the apex court had instructed the high court to decide the applications within two weeks. However, that deadline has passed without a decision.

The delay has prompted the petitioners to return to the Supreme Court, seeking judicial intervention to ensure compliance with its earlier order. The upcoming hearing is expected to focus on the reasons behind the delay and the implementation of the apex court’s directives.
