WANA: Assistant Director Local Government South Waziristan Lower, Halim Shah, visited the District Press Club Wana and held a detailed meeting with local journalists to discuss the challenges facing the media community.
During the meeting, senior journalist Roshan Khan Wazir highlighted several issues affecting the press club, including the lack of clean drinking water, inadequate basic facilities, and other administrative concerns. He urged the local government to provide the necessary resources so journalists can perform their professional responsibilities effectively.
Halim Shah assured the journalists that their concerns had been noted and that immediate and practical measures would be taken to address them. He described the District Press Club Wana as an important institution serving the region’s journalists and acknowledged the media’s vital role in highlighting public issues and strengthening communication between government institutions and citizens.
He said journalism is the fourth pillar of the state and plays a key role in promoting transparency, accountability, and public awareness. He added that the district administration would continue extending full cooperation to resolve the legitimate concerns of the journalist community.
The official also pledged to coordinate with the relevant authorities to ensure the provision of essential facilities at the press club, enabling journalists to work in a better professional environment.
