Pakistan’s armed forces reaffirm their commitment to defending the country’s sovereignty while remembering the courage and sacrifice of Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed.
Pakistan’s armed forces on Thursday paid tribute to Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed, a recipient of Nishan-e-Haider, on the 55th anniversary of his martyrdom, remembering his extraordinary courage and ultimate sacrifice in the defence of the country.
According to a post by the Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) on X, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces; Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff; Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff; and the Armed Forces of Pakistan solemnly commemorated the anniversary.
The military leadership paid profound tribute to Rashid Minhas for demonstrating exceptional courage, unwavering determination and devotion to duty during an extraordinary challenge in 1971.
Rashid Minhas’ sacrifice has remained an enduring symbol of loyalty and commitment to Pakistan. His actions in the face of danger earned him the nation’s highest military award, Nishan-e-Haider, and established his legacy among Pakistan’s most revered military heroes.
The DG ISPR statement said the people and armed forces of Pakistan paid solemn homage to the fallen officer and reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national interests.
