Maryam Nawaz’s daughter Mahnoor Safdar is set to have her nikah on September 12 at Jati Umra, with about 100 close family members and relatives expected to attend.
LAHORE: The nikah ceremony of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s daughter, Mahnoor Safdar, is scheduled to take place on Sept. 12 at Jati Umra, according to sources.
The ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. and is expected to remain a private family gathering, with members of the Sharif family and close relatives invited.
Sources said preparations for the nikah have been completed following the finalization of the date. Close family members have also been informed about the arrangements.
Ceremony to be held at Jati Umra
According to sources, the nikah will take place at Jati Umra on Saturday evening. The guest list has been kept limited, with about 100 people expected to attend the ceremony.
The decision to restrict the gathering is aimed at keeping the event private and focused on close family members and relatives.
Maryam Nawaz returns from London
The nikah preparations come shortly after Mahnoor Safdar’s graduation ceremony in London, which was attended by her mother, Maryam Nawaz.
Maryam Nawaz had travelled to London on a private visit to attend her daughter’s graduation. She also expressed happiness over Mahnoor’s academic achievement.
According to sources, Maryam Nawaz has returned to Pakistan from London, while her daughter has also accompanied her back to the country.
Nikah preparations after graduation
Following Mahnoor Safdar’s graduation, preparations for her nikah have now been completed, sources said.
The date of the nikah had already been decided, while details regarding the venue and timing have now emerged. The Sept. 12 ceremony is expected to remain a limited family affair because of the small number of invited guests.
Sharif family’s private family event
Mahnoor Safdar is the daughter of Maryam Nawaz Sharif and retired Capt. Muhammad Safdar. Maryam Nawaz has three children: daughters Mahnoor and Mehr-un-Nisa, and son Junaid Safdar.
Sources said the Sharif family has decided to hold Mahnoor’s nikah on a simple and limited scale, with only close relatives and family members expected to attend.
The ceremony is therefore expected to be a private family gathering at Jati Umra following Mahnoor Safdar’s recent graduation in London.
