NADRA has clarified which federal, provincial, military and other pensioners can currently use the digital Proof of Life Certificate facility.
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has clarified which pensioners are currently eligible to use its Proof of Life Certificate facility, saying the service is being introduced in phases.
According to NADRA, the facility is not yet available to all pensioners. In the first phase, it has been made available to pensioners of federal and provincial institutions administered by the Controller General of Accounts and Provincial Accountants General.
The facility also covers pensioners in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Pensioners of the three armed forces administered by the Military Accountant General are also eligible for the facility in the first phase.
In addition, NADRA and Radio Pakistan pensioners can use the Proof of Life Certificate service.
Facility to be expanded in phases
NADRA said pensioners of other institutions will be included in the facility gradually.
The phased rollout means the digital verification service will initially remain limited to the categories identified by NADRA, while pensioners associated with other institutions will be brought into the system at a later stage.
How will verification work through Pak ID app?
Under the facility, pensioners can complete the required verification through the Pak ID mobile application whenever a Proof of Life Certificate is required.
NADRA previously explained that if the certificate is required again after one month or six months, depending on the applicable requirement, the pensioner can complete the verification process through the Pak ID app.
After each successful verification, a new Proof of Life Certificate will be issued. The certificate will then be automatically submitted to the relevant pension-disbursing institution.
The digital process is aimed at making pensioners’ life verification more convenient by reducing the need to complete the process through traditional methods each time the certificate is required.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had earlier inaugurated the Proof of Life Certificate facility for pensioners.
