Security forces and the Counter-Terrorism Department conducted separate operations in Mastung and Pishin, according to security and CTD sources.
QUETTA: Security forces and law enforcement agencies have killed nine alleged terrorists, including a commander, in two separate operations in Balochistan, according to security and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) sources.
In Mastung, three alleged terrorists, including a commander identified as Naqeeb, were killed during an operation, according to security sources.
The sources said the suspected militants were travelling in a vehicle that was targeted by a quadcopter. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the strike, they said.
The operation continued until the alleged terrorists were neutralised, according to the sources. They added that security forces would continue operations against militant elements in the province.
Separately, the CTD conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Saranan area of Pishin, where six alleged terrorists were killed during an exchange of fire with CTD personnel, according to a CTD spokesperson.
Four security personnel were also injured during the operation, the spokesperson said.
The CTD said the slain suspects were allegedly affiliated with a banned organisation. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from their possession, according to the spokesperson.
The suspects were allegedly involved in attacks targeting security forces and civilians, the CTD said.
Authorities have continued security and counterterrorism operations across Balochistan as part of efforts to prevent militant attacks and target suspected armed groups.
