Nawaz Sharif Chairs PML-N Meeting as New Provinces, Public Relief Measures Come Under Discussion

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

PML-N leadership discusses new provinces, political and administrative matters and measures aimed at providing economic relief to the public.

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif chaired an important party meeting in Lahore where the leadership discussed the possible formation of new provinces, political and administrative matters and measures to provide relief to the public.

According to media reports, the high-level meeting was attended by senior PML-N leaders, including the deputy prime minister. The participants reviewed the overall political and economic situation and discussed issues considered important for the party and the government.

The formation of new provinces emerged as one of the key subjects discussed during the meeting. According to the reports, participants exchanged views on different aspects of creating new administrative units, including administrative improvement, equitable distribution of resources and greater public convenience.

The issue of a separate South Punjab province has remained part of Pakistan’s political debate for years. The proposal has been discussed by various political parties from the perspectives of administration, representation, development and distribution of resources.

The meeting also focused on measures to provide economic relief to people facing financial difficulties and rising living costs. According to media reports, the recent reduction in petroleum product prices announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was made following special directions from Nawaz Sharif.

The reports attributed the decision to Nawaz Sharif’s instructions and presented the move as part of efforts to reduce the economic burden on the public.

PML-N has previously expressed support in principle for the creation of new provinces on administrative grounds. However, the establishment of a new province involves constitutional, political and administrative considerations and requires the relevant legal and parliamentary process.
