KP Information Department is working on a 99-day plan featuring an expanded FM radio network, improved public communication and digital complaint services.
PESHAWAR:Â The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information and Public Relations Department is working on a 99-day plan to improve public communication, expand access to verified information and address citizens’ concerns, following directives from Adviser to the Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Samar Haroon Bilour.
The initiative aims to strengthen communication between the provincial government and the public, particularly in remote areas where access to timely information can be limited.
Under the plan, the department is working to activate its FM radio network on an emergency basis to extend government communication services to distant parts of the province. An information cell is also being used to provide citizens with authentic and timely information about government activities and public matters.
The department’s stated priorities include resolving journalists’ issues, supporting efforts to maintain peace and improving public relief services.
Education and school safety have also been included among the government’s areas of focus. Following the Peshawar school incident, schools and religious seminaries across the province were reviewed to assess their condition and identify repair requirements.
According to the information provided, approximately 4,000 institutions were identified as requiring repairs. Arrangements are being made to ensure that students enrolled in these institutions can continue their education while the necessary work is addressed.
The provincial government is also focusing on improving law enforcement capabilities. Modern armoured vehicles are being provided to the police as part of efforts related to security and maintaining law and order.
Meanwhile, measures are being taken to remove illegal encroachments and improve cleanliness in urban areas. These initiatives are aimed at improving the management of public spaces and municipal conditions.
Another major component of the plan involves digitalising public complaint services. Government institutions are being brought together on a single digital portal to make it easier for citizens to submit complaints and access relevant departments.
The 99-day initiative reflects the Information Department’s stated focus on improving communication, expanding information access and coordinating public services.
Through FM radio broadcasting, information services and digital complaint facilities, the department aims to establish more accessible channels between government institutions and residents across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
