Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar met religious scholars and members of the National Paigham-e-Peace Committee to discuss peace, religious harmony and national unity.
AKORA KHATTAK: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar visited Darul Uloom Haqqania in Akora Khattak on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where he met religious scholars and members of the National Paigham-e-Peace Committee to discuss peace, religious harmony and national unity.
Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Information and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Affairs Ikhtiar Wali Khan and Member of the Provincial Assembly Jalal Khan accompanied the federal minister during the visit.
Members of the National Paigham-e-Peace Committee, Deputy Rector of Darul Uloom Haqqania Maulana Rashid-ul-Haq Haqqani, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (S) chief Maulana Abdul Haq Sani, Maulana Syed Muhammad Yousaf Shah and other religious figures received Tarar upon his arrival at the seminary.
Members of the committee and prominent scholars representing different schools of thought also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the participants discussed efforts to promote peace and religious harmony. They also exchanged views on strengthening peace and stability in the country and building national unity against terrorism.
Tarar said promoting the message of peace, tolerance and national unity was a need of the hour. He said the National Paigham-e-Peace Committee was playing a role in promoting peace, religious harmony and a national narrative against terrorism.
The federal minister said the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting was using the National Paigham-e-Peace Committee as a platform to communicate the message of peace and stability to the public.
The visit also included a tour of different sections of Darul Uloom Haqqania by Tarar and members of the National Paigham-e-Peace Committee. The delegation was briefed by the seminary’s administration about its educational and religious services.
Tarar also visited the historic Jamia Masjid Abdul Haq located within the seminary.
During the visit, Tarar and members of the National Paigham-e-Peace Committee offered prayers for the elevation of the ranks of Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Idris Tarangzai, Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq Haqqani and Maulana Sami-ul-Haq.
Members of the National Paigham-e-Peace Committee and religious scholars reiterated their commitment to promoting peace and national unity. They also stressed the need for joint efforts to promote peace and work toward eliminating terrorism.
