Islamabad Family Court grants a khula decree in favour of Humaira Tayyaba after reconciliation efforts between the couple fail.
ISLAMABAD: The Family Court in Islamabad has issued a khula decree in favour of Humaira Tayyaba, bringing an end to the marriage between former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed and his wife.
According to the court’s order, Humaira Tayyaba expressed her unwillingness to continue living with her husband. The court also attempted reconciliation between the two parties, but the efforts proved unsuccessful.
Following the failure of reconciliation proceedings, the court ordered the dissolution of the marriage through khula.
The court order further stated that neither party had any outstanding claim against the other regarding Haq Mehr (dower).
The proceedings also addressed claims concerning the maintenance of the couple’s children and other related matters. According to the order, the remaining claims were dismissed after being withdrawn.
With the issuance of the khula decree, the Family Court granted relief to Humaira Tayyaba, formally ending the marital relationship between the former senator and his wife through the legal process.
The court’s decision followed the proceedings in which the wife’s unwillingness to continue the marriage and the unsuccessful reconciliation attempts formed the basis for granting khula.
The order also clarified the position regarding financial claims between the parties, stating that no dispute over Haq Mehr remained pending. Meanwhile, the claims concerning children’s maintenance and other matters were withdrawn and subsequently dismissed.
