Manchester Airport Group acknowledges PIA’s services as more than 104,000 passengers travel on its direct flights to Islamabad and Lahore in the first year.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has completed one year of direct flight operations from Manchester to Islamabad and Lahore, carrying more than 104,000 passengers during the period, according to figures provided by the Manchester Airport Authority.

The Manchester Airport Group has praised PIA for its air services, highlighting the airline’s performance and its role in connecting the Pakistani community in the United Kingdom with their homeland.

According to the airport authority’s statistics, PIA transported more than 104,000 passengers and handled 1,541 tons of cargo on its Manchester-Islamabad and Manchester-Lahore routes during the first year of operations.

In response to growing passenger demand, the national flag carrier is currently operating five weekly flights on the Manchester-Islamabad and Manchester-Lahore routes.

The direct services provide an important travel link for British Pakistanis living in the northern regions of the United Kingdom, where more than 300,000 members of the Pakistani community reside.

For many members of this community, direct flights from Manchester offer an important connection to Pakistan, facilitating travel between the two countries without the need for connecting flights.

The completion of the first year of operations, alongside the passenger and cargo figures, highlights the demand for direct air connectivity between Manchester and Pakistan.

PIA’s five weekly flights are aimed at serving this growing demand, providing travel options for passengers travelling between the United Kingdom and Pakistan.

The Manchester Airport Group’s recognition also highlights the role of PIA’s Manchester operations in maintaining air links between the two countries, particularly for the large British Pakistani community in northern England.
