President Zardari Summons Senate, National Assembly Sessions on PM’s Advice

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

ISLAMABAD: (Ayesha Naz) President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned the separate senate session and the national assembly session, according to the parliamentary sources.

The sources stated that the Senate will held on Monday at 4 PM, after which the National Assembly will also held at 5 PM. The two sessions were called at the recommendation of the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

It is estimated that the parliamentary sessions would last up to two weeks, and the government will present and discuss some of the key legislative acts. Bills of critical nature on governance, economic management and institutional reforms will probably be pursued on both houses.

Besides government business, members of parliament are also supposed to raise attention notice and to debate on matters of importance to people. The parliamentary sources indicated that the routine legislative business and policy discussions would also be included in the agenda.

The following sessions are timely considering the fact that the government is keen on pushing its legislative agendas in the face of economic adversities and political processes taking place. The presence of the opposition parties is also anticipated to take an active role during the debates and hold the government responsible on several issues affecting the national level.

The two houses of the Legislature of Pakistan are the National Assembly and Senate, where the legislation must be approved by both houses before it becomes a law.
