Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken strict action following the tragic Bhatti Gate incident, ordering the halt of work at the site handled by Design & Engineering System Company due to violations of safety protocols.
According to reports, the site has now been secured and covered with safety measures to prevent further accidents. The Bhatti Gate incident inquiry report has been completed, and the post-mortem results are expected to accelerate the case proceedings.
Maryam Nawaz expressed deep outrage over the tragedy, stating that the era of negligence is over, and justice will be served for the victims. She said, “Seeing the injuries of innocent Sadia and her little daughter brought tears to my eyes. These wounds are on the forehead of Punjab, and my mission is to bring those who destroyed a happy family to justice.”
The Chief Minister’s decisive actions highlight the provincial government’s commitment to safety and accountability. Authorities have vowed to ensure strict enforcement of safety protocols on construction sites across Punjab to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
