LAHORE: (Click Pakistan) The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has placed a detailed 27 points safety and power management project to the Lahore High Court to provide uninterrupted power supply and the safety of people during Basant celebrations.
The report says that, a Central Control and Command Center will be set up at the LESCO headquarters in order to promptly deal with electricity related grievances. A separate control room will also be established at the Commissioner Office to increase coordination with the government departments.
LESCO announced that the city will have Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) working in three shifts in control rooms 24 hours a day. There will be a specially niche Data Darbar Division Control to ensure a continuous power supply in a major venue during Basant festivities; the Walled City of Lahore.
High alert has been put in every operational staff as well as field staff during the Basant. XENs will be permanently posted at 132 kV grid stations 24 hours a day, to provide safety of the population, and rapid reaction to the emergencies.
The 111 complaint helpline will continue to operate to the full in the subdivision of Lahore and contact information of 136 XENs and SDOs were shared with the Assistant Commissioners in order to have a better coordination.
The strategy categorically forbids employees to take away kites on power lines without disconnecting power. Individually, authorities confirmed that a special psychological support department has been engaged on Punjab Emergency Helpline 15.
