Pakistan will play their final Group A match of the ICC T20 World Cup against Namibia tomorrow. It will be Pakistan’s first game after their defeat to India on Sunday, and fans are eagerly waiting to see whether senior players Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Shadab Khan will retain their places in the side.
Following the loss to India, many supporters and former cricketers have called for changes, suggesting that Babar and Shaheen should be rested due to underwhelming performances. However, Pakistan have won two of their three group matches and are close to qualifying for the Super Eight stage. An unexpected result against Namibia could open the door for the USA to advance instead.
Experts believe Pakistan may test new players such as Khawaja Nafay, Salman Mirza and Fakhar Zaman, but that would require dropping key senior players.
The match will be played at Senali Sports Ground during the day, where batting-friendly conditions are expected. Captain Salman Ali Agha will also be under pressure to deliver at number three after a quiet tournament so far. Meanwhile, Namibia, though an associate nation, have shown they cannot be taken lightly.
